Laboratories Coordination
Digital Manufacturing Laboratory
The Digital Manufacturing Laboratory conducts teaching, research, and innovation activities focused on the digital transformation of manufacturing systems. The laboratory develops and applies technologies associated with Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0, with emphasis on process modeling and simulation, virtual commissioning, Digital Twins, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and industrial data analytics.
Research activities aim to bridge the physical and virtual worlds through cyber-physical systems and digital manufacturing platforms, enabling the validation, optimization, and monitoring of production systems before their physical implementation. The laboratory also develops projects related to energy efficiency and predictive maintenance.
In addition to supporting undergraduate and graduate education, the laboratory collaborates with industry and research institutions, contributing to the development of innovative solutions for advanced and sustainable manufacturing.
Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory
The Integrated Manufacturing Laboratory is dedicated to the study and implementation of solutions that promote the integration of production resources, automation systems, and information technologies across the manufacturing value chain. The laboratory provides an environment for experimentation and validation of concepts related to industrial automation, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), interoperability and cyber-physical systems.
Its activities encompass industrial equipment connectivity, process supervision and control, real-time data acquisition and analytics. The laboratory also supports research in smart manufacturing, industrial equipment connectivity, legacy machine retrofitting, and decision support in complex manufacturing environments.
Its mission is to provide a systemic view of modern manufacturing, bringing students, researchers, and industry closer to the challenges associated with technology integration and the development of more flexible, efficient, and connected production environments.
